“Thanks for your email and thank you so much from me and Rupert for all your sterling work on the wedding - both before, during and after. You were amazing and we will not hesitate to recommend you to our friends.” Jean & Rupert
Jean & Rupert first approached Sandy around six months prior to their wedding day. They had a consultation one very snowy lunchtime, on the way to meeting their photographer Nigel Harper.
The couple was planning a civil ceremony at the stunning St Paul's Walden Bury in Hertfordshire, followed by a reception in the grounds in a large marquee.
They had done a lot of planning themselves but, both busy working in London, they wanted some help over the last few months and pulling the whole wedding together.
Sandy worked closely with Countryside Marquees to ensure that everything was set up perfectly, including stringing up knotted fishing line from the marquee roof to ensure the many Chinese lanterns would all be perfectly placed at regular intervals and wouldn't slip.
Sadly it was a very wet and windy day which meant guests didn't enjoy the breathtaking grounds as much as the couple had hoped, however the photographer managed to get some great outside shots on the odd occasion that it stopped and guests stayed warm inside whilst they tucked into an eight course Chinese banquet care of the excellent Leigh House, based in Beaconsfield.
Buds Of May designed beautiful floral work, under the pressure of having to make last minute changes to blooms as certain flowers could not be flown from Equador due to the ash cloud which had stopped so many flights.
A delightful day was had by all, which culminated in guests eating wedding cake as they watched a splendid firework show across the lake.
